Organizational Profile

Lotus Buds International was founded in January of 2005 to encourage adoption among Chinese Christians
to reduce the number of children living in orphanages in The People’s Republic of China.

       Lotus Buds International is the vision of Rick and Chris Carter. The Carter’s spent nine years living in
    China. Chris was involved in education and Rick developed a successful business representing
    US companies in China. Before beginning Lotus Buds International, Rick worked in the
    international department of Focus on the Family. This experience, impressed on him the importance of
    each and every child having a family. The Carter’s are using their business experience and understanding
    of Chinese culture to build partnerships in China to fulfill the mission.

Lotus Buds International has developed a network of adoption experts

and

therapist in the U.S.

who

provide materials and assistance for

training

in China. Resource partnerships have been established with

Kingdom

Kids Adoption Ministry in Spokane, WA. and Heart of the

Matter Seminars

in Lee’s Summit, MO. The board of directors

includes Chuck McGinty

who is the Agency Director for marketing at

Compassion International.

Chris Padbury, is the Director of Project

1.27, a faith-based adoption

project partnering with the State of

Colorado. And, James Parsons, who is

a founding partner of Decorize,

Inc., a home furnishing company doing

business in China.

       As a non-profit organization Lotus Buds International depends on contributions from individuals, corporations
